I was born and raised in the beautiful small town, Stellenbosch, South Africa. This little town is filled with inspiring artists, musicians and old Cape Dutch architecture. It is surrounded by mountains and farms of all kinds. It was my playground and where I felt inspired to be creative.
Nowadays I am based in Cape Town and find it to be a place of connection for my creative soul, with plenty of opportunities for beautiful imagery.
After my studies, and before I became a fulltime photographer, I worked in the film & still photographic industry in Cape Town as photographic assistant, studio manager, producer and co-ordinator for International brands and photographers. This was the best learning school ever. I learnt all about different lighting scenarios, shooting on location and in studio, weather conditions, how to run a shoot and plan everything from the start to finish. All of this while shooting on the side.
I love to create timeless and naturally, beautiful imagery. My love for people and the beauty of every single human being on this planet, is what drives me and make me feel comfortable to work with anybody.
For years my main focus was photographing people, but during lockdown I have found a new interest in food photography. I have always loved food, being an avid cook and baker. And one thing I have learned is that people eat with their eyes. So what better way to showcase food than through photography.
Light and shadows inspire me, as well as the shape of food, nature, cityscapes, and the beauty of human kind.
I would love to help you to bring a creative vision to life through capturing strikingly beautiful, emotion filled and memorable imagery.
